The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again. People will come. People will most definitely come.

A Message from the President
Tom Cortopassi

I am very proud and excited to be the president of one of the finest little leagues in the country.
I want to personally thank the fantastic volunteers that contributed to a great 2007 season. Each member of the board of directors is very proud of the progress that we made in accomplishing the league priorities that we identified before last season, which are:

  1. Have fun!
  2. Learn age-appropriate baseball fundamentals.
  3. Create a positive environment for coaches, players, and families.
  4. Promote and teach the meaning of preparation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
  5. Assure adequate batting and playing time throughout each game.
  6. Promote camaraderie and coaching “passion” among all division coaches.
  7. To have a fun, competitive year-end tournament for all Minor A and Major league teams in Hoover Tyler.
  8. Enhance the partnership we have with the University of the Pacific baseball program.

The success that we enjoyed in accomplishing these goals is to be celebrated by everyone involved with Hoover Tyler. It takes many volunteers, dedicated coaches, supportive families, and board leadership to make all of this happen. It is our mission to make the aforementioned priorities the culture of this fine league.
Please step up to be a volunteer. Remember that this is OUR league; nearly all of the work done at Hoover Tyler is done by volunteers. Our league will need your assistance and your child will admire you for stepping forward to assist.
By taking over for our Past-President, Rick Paulsen, I realize that I have very big shoes to fill—he provided extremely strong leadership to our league that is greatly appreciated. I am very motivated to build upon a great 2007, and lead Hoover Tyler to a fulfilling 2008 season for all participants.
