This is an evaluation program is for players who:

Tee Ball experience is not required in order to be evaluated for Minor B. HTLL assesses each candidate to determine whether Minor B or Tee Ball is the best level for the player.

Candidates who are placed into Tee Ball following the assessment are given a refund of the fee difference.

Minor B is HTLL's machine pitch developmental division. It is usually comprised of players who are League Age 7 and 8. Games last 75 minutes. The first few games of the season are similar to T-ball with everyone batting each inning. In the rest of the season, batters receive 5 pitches and can strike out if they don't put the ball in play. There are no walks. Each inning is limited to 3 runs to allow for more defensive experience.

Important: League Age 9 players may sign up for Minor B, but they must participate in the Minor A skills assessment, and they are eligible to be drafted into Minor A. This is to ensure the best developmental placement for the player above any other consideration. Any League Age 9 player who does not attend the skills assessment without prior clearance from the Player Agent may have their registration cancelled.

Any player who is not drafted to Minor A will be returned to the Minor B pool for team assignment by the league.

The Minor A division is both a competitive and instructional division. Players who are League Age 7-11 may sign up for Minor A. Coaches draft players for their teams based on skills demonstrated at assessments. Players may be drafted onto either a Minor A or a Majors team. (League Age 8 may be drafted to Minor A only; undrafted League Age 7, 8, & 9 players will be placed in Minor B; all returning Minor A players will be drafted to Minor A or Majors regardless of age).

The games are more competitive with only kids pitching. A continuous batting is in effect, all players are in the batting order regardless of whether they are playing a defensive position. Games last 6 innings or 1 hr 45 min, whichever comes first. There is a 5-run limit per inning for each team.

There is usually 1 game during the week and 1 game on Saturdays during the season.

The Major division is the the final step in the traditional Little League program. Players have typically played 2+ years of baseball, and they want to continue improving and having fun with their peers. A continuous batting order is in effect, all players are placed and remain in the batting order regardless of whether they are playing a defensive position. Batters may try to advance on a dropped 3rd strike in accordance with regular baseball rules.

All 12 year old eligible players are guaranteed placement in this division, as are any returning Majors players from the previous season.

New 9-11 year old players may try out to be drafted to play in this division.

During the season, there is 1 game during the week and 1 game on Saturday. Games last 6 innings.

The Intermediate division is for players who are interested in increasing their baseball skills with more advanced techniques and gameplay ("baseball IQ"). Players at this level are also beginning to focus on development at a specific position, such as pitcher or catcher, while working to improve their overall skillset. Prior baseball experience at the Majors level is highly recommended.

Intermediates play on a slightly larger field (70 ft base paths, 50 ft pitching distance) and the division introduces more advanced aspects of baseball, such as lead offs and pick offs. Players may wear metal spikes and are permitted to slide head first.

During the season, there is usually 1 game during the week and 1 game on Saturday. Games are limited to 2 hours.

The Juniors division is the highest level of play offered by Hoover Tyler Little League. Games are played on the full-size diamond (90 ft base paths and 60 ft pitching distance).

At this level, players are focused on developing more advanced defensive specialties such as pitching, catching, first base, outfield, etc. They are also continuing to improve at baseball overall. For a successful experience, players should ideally have 2+ years of prior baseball experience.

There are 1-2 games per week during the season.
